10 Lafia University Students Kidnapped By Gunmen Kidnapping by bandits and insurgents is among the biggest organized or gang crime in Nigeria and is a national security challenge Ten students of University of Lafia State were kidnapped by gunmen believed to be Fulani herders on Thursday night. An eyewitness whose identity was not disclosed said that the men invaded Gandu (a student area opposite the university) at 2am shooting and forcing students out of their hostels and this lasted for 2 hours without interruption. Abubakar Ibrahim (the public relations officer of the university) said it is too early to know the exact number of students because the area the gunmen attacked was outside the school campus ,but three to five students may have been kidnapped and the university will make provision for students to be living within the school campus.
